Jared's Sunday

Today we did so many fun things! My favorite part was meeting and working with Digna. She is a singing legend in Cuba and helped us with our choir repertoire. Digna was so sweet and she really helped us improve our singing skills and energy. She did so by rearranging or sections so our voices could blend more smoothly and having us open our vowels even more. Digna was so energetic and fun and though we may have been in a small room with her for a couple hours, we all wished we didn't have to leave. After the workshop, we got to go see a whole lot of old cars. There were so many different colors and styles and it was really cool to see the difference between today and the time period they were created. Another riveting event of the day was when we sang at Hermita de la Virgen de Montserrat. It was a beautiful space which overlooked some gorgeous greenery. The venue of our concert had a large, brown owl on the back wall in which all sounds reverberated against in perfect harmony.  We did many other activities today, and all were just as exciting! The weather has been perfect so far and I can't wait to see what else Cuba has for us!
